I was born in 1961 in Berlin Weißensee. When I was 10 I first heard Led Zeppelin, it was Black Dog and soon Led Zeppelin played a big part in my life. It was very difficult getting hold of vinyl in East Germany, but I had the entire Zeppelin catalogue on tape.
In 1984 I tried to get to the West via Hungary, but got caught and spent 18 months in prison. 11 months into my sentence I got a lucky break, as West Germany paid for my release. I was free, and soon bought all the official releases from my favourite band.
From then on things moved quickly. I bought bootlegs, books, posters, magazines, you name it. By 1988 I had a massive collection of all things Zeppelin, but I decided to shift my focus on collecting magazines that had Zeppelin on its cover or articles about the band.
Help was on hand from the lovely people at the "Four Symbols Led Zeppelin Club" and the "Friends of Zep Club".
With today's release of my first website, my collection stands at 1477 magazine covers and 4188 magazines with articles about Zeppelin, spanning globally from 1969 to 2010.
They are all originals, no photocopies or reproductions, all neatly filed and sorted.
I hope you enjoy sifting through the pages as much as I do collecting them.

Ich bin 1961 in Berlin Weißensee geboren. Als Zehnjähriger hörte ich erstmals einen Song von Led Zeppelin. Es war „Black Dog“ und bald schon gehörte Led Zeppelin zu meinem Leben. Im Osten war es schwer an Platten von Led Zeppelin zu kommen aber auf Kassetten hatte ich sie alle.
1984 versuchte ich über Ungarn in den Westen zu flüchten, wurde erwischt und musste für 18 Monate ins Gefängnis. Nach 11 Monaten hatte ich das Glück, von der Bundesrepublik Deutschland freigekauft zu werden. Ich war frei und kaufte alle offiziellen Alben von meiner Lieblingsband.
Danach ging es rasant weiter mit: Bootlegs, Büchern, Postern, Magazinen, Artikeln, CDs usw. Bis 1988 hatte ich eine riesige Sammlung. Von da an lenkte ich mein Augenmerk auf Musikmagazine, in denen Led Zeppelin mit einem Bild auf dem Cover vertreten war.
Helfer fanden sich im „Four Symbols Led Zeppelin Club“ und im „Friends of Zep Club“.
Mit dem heutigen Erscheinen dieser Webseite habe ich 1477 Magazine mit Led Zeppelin oder Solo auf dem Cover und 4188 Zeitschriften mit Artikeln von 1969 bis 2010 - weltweit. Es ist alles im Original, keine Kopien oder Repros, abgeheftet und sortiert. Ich wünsche allen viel Spaß beim Durchschmökern dieser Webseite!!!
